Galen SureChief

Galen SureChief Schmidt, 61, passed away on January 15, 2026.

The service for Galen SureChief will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at Little Flower Parish.

Visitation: Monday, at 12:00 PM at Glacier Homes Community Center.

Galen was born in 1964 in Boise, Idaho. She was a mom, aunt, grandma, and friend. She enjoyed doing things like knitting, crochet, puzzles, reading, video games, movies, and watching TV. Some of her favorite shows were Days of Our Lives, Grey's Anatomy, Full House, and George Lopez.

She was 60 years young when she went to sleep and went to be with her mom and family. She had five kids, who later went on to have kids of their own.

Although she lost her battle with cancer, she will always be one of the strongest women I know. She always did what she could for her kids, making sure we could celebrate the holidays and that we always had food in our bellies.

She loved animals and had many cats throughout her life. Her favorite animal was the wolf. She enjoyed all kinds of music, from Prince, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson to Ozzy Osbourne.

Her home was always open, and you could talk to her about anything. She was always there to listen when someone needed her.
