It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, nephew, cousin and grandson Jacob Merlin Wippert.
Jacob is predeceased by his dad James Wippert his grandfather Merlin Wippert, Uncle Israel (Izzy) Shorting and sister Dixie Bouchie. Jacob is survived by his mother Melissa Shorting, big brother Dillon, little brother Warren and his baby sister Felicity. Step-father Kevin Bittern. His step siblings in Berens River Manitoba, his grandparents Art and Betty Shorting and Diane Wippert, Maternal aunts Crystal (Rj), Jessica (Curt), Elizabeth (June) Maternal uncles Adrian, Michael (Nicole), Matthew (Susie). Paternal sister/auntie Kelly and Tonya and brother/uncle Merlin (Son) and numerous cousins.
Jacob was born on August 16,1996 on the Blackfeet reservation in Browning Montana. A proud member of both the Blackfeet Nation and Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba Canada. Jacob was raised and grew up on the Blackfeet reservation attending all levels of schooling there. Cowboying, horseback riding and attending cultural events were part of Jacobs life there. Growing up Jacob played basketball and wrestled in mini wrestling.
Jacob was an adventurous spirit. Traveling back and forth between his homes in Browning and Winnipeg to visit family. Family was important to Jacob. He grew up with a large extended family on both sides. His childhood friends were also considered family.
Wake service will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 7PM-11PM at Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Ave. Funeral service will be held in Browning, Montana with burial at Willow Creek Cemetery.
Jacob is lovingly remembered for his gentle spirit, his beautiful smile, his humor and his tenacity to endure whatever came his way.
