Joesph Fitzgerald

Joesph "Joe" Lee Fitzgerald, liyikitapiiyi Sahkomapi (Brave Boy), was born August 19th,1988 in Browning Mt to John Lee Fitzgerald and Theresa Ann NewRobe Fitzgerald. He was a descendent of NewRobe, OldRock, Fitzgerald, Morgan, Running Crane and Night Gun.

Joe was raised in Browning and Yakima WA. He served in the Montana National Guard with Bravo Company 163rd Regiment out of Kalispell, MT with one deployment from 2010-2011 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Less than a year after his tour he met Cassandra Cruz, who later married in 2016. They have two daughters from their union, Alexandria Rose and Kara Ann Fitzgerald. Joe's hobbies included Target practice, video Games, card games and traveling with his wife and daughters.

Joe is proceeded in death by his grandparents John A, Eva L. Morgan Fitzgerald and Great Grandmother Mary (Running Crane) Morgan, Vincent NewRobe and Mary OldRock. Aunties Wanda and Mary NewRobe, Gail and Anna Fitzgerald. Uncles Joesph D., Paul and James "Crow" Fitzgerald, Bob Morgan, Aloysius and Ben New Robe. He is survived by his wife Cassandra Cruz Fitzgerald, his daughters Alexandria Rose and Kara Ann Fitzgerald. Brother John D. (Marquelle) Fitzgerald, sisters Crystal (Jess) New Robe and Heather (Ryan) New Robe. 6 nephews 5 nieces. Parents John L and Theresa A. Fitzgerald and one great aunt Rhea Morgan.

Joe passed away on December 16th at I.H.S in Browning, MT. Wake will be held at Glacier Homes Community Center December 23rd - 25th and with burial at Willow Creek Cemetery December 26th at 11:00 A.M.
