Mona Marie Zubach, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, godmother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at the age of 86. Mona was born on November 1, 1938, in Browning, Montana, and throughout her life, she embraced the beauty of her Montana roots while creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
Mona's love story began in Babb Mt. Mona & Ron tie the knot in Cardston, Alberta Canada, on November 24, 1970. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a shared passion for the ranch life they both cherished. As a dedicated ranch wife, Mona supported Ron in every aspect of their farming and ranching endeavors, managing the land and caring for their animals with unparalleled devotion.
In addition to her work on the ranch, Mona had a fulfilling career as an Occupancy Technician and as Office Manager at MT Power where her meticulous nature and strong work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and those she served.
Outside of work and ranch life, Mona was an avid lover of games. She had a knack for cards, trivia, and puzzles, and she could often be found challenging friends and family to friendly competitions. Her sharp mind and quick wit made her an unforgettable participant in any game she played.
Mona's greatest pride and joy were her family. She was a devoted mother to her sons, daughters & a cherished grandmother to her 15 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren & 4 Great- Great Grandchildren. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of her home-cooked meals. Mona's love for her family was boundless, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love.
Mona was preceded in death by her loving husband Ron as well as Toni Lapier, Debbie Matt, Ryan Matt, Justice Osborne, Chris Hall Sr, Porky Sellars, Lucille Murphy, Patti Lou Brown, Dixie Gray, Tommy Sellars, Pete Sellars, Ross Trombley, Willie & Sally Bonds. She is survived by her children, Gene Matt, Newman Hoff, Kurt Zuback, Colleen Matt, Kari Zubach, and Karol Jean Zuback; her sisters Hadean Vaught, Suzy Sneed, Jean McDonald, Shirley Salios, Kelly Hurt, Robin Bearchild; Jake Sellars, Darryl Wayne Talksabout, Clyde "Beasty" Racine; Aunt Lenore Matt and Aunt Helen Hilton; her beautiful grandchildren, Greatgrandchildren, and be love Great- Great Grandchildren , and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Mona's life will be held Sunday May 25, at 5:00 PM at Glacier Homes Community Center. Rosary: Monday May 26, at 7:00 PM at Glacier Home Community Center. Mass: Tuesday May 27, at 11:00 AM at Little Flower Parish.
Mona's memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
